Monterey, CA
Monterey is small and nice coastal city. It used to be a fishery and cannery center in the past and nowadays attracts people with whale watching tours and great Monterey aquarium.
Surface looks calm, but undearneath it there is deep canyon which allows this place to have diverse marine life including several species of whales.
There are lots of sea lions and seals on the beaches and even city wharfs.
