Lower Antelope Canyon

This narrow and short (400m) canyon attracts lots of photographers and sightseers with its scenic sections. It is located on Navajo land and entry is restricted to guided tours led by authorized guides.

Entrance level is far beneath the ground and it feels like twilight zone.

Blue color seen on the photos taken in the canyon is not distinguishable with "naked" eye. Our human eyes accommodate to the low light conditions there and "ignore" the blue tones captured only by cameras.

Guide offers help with turning on filters on the phones. My photos in this post don't have any filters or post-processing and were taken as is.

These rocks remind me of "The Creation of Adam". Overall this canyon feels like natural Sistine Chapel. A masterpiece made by water and erosion.

Flash floods carved these "waves".

By the middle canyon becomes shallower and has many well lit spots.

This is exit. Hard to believe that this crevis lets enough light inside, but it is true.

Thank you for viewing!
