Angels Landing, Zion

Angels Landing is a tall rock in Zion National Park with fantastic views of the canyon from it.

Trail to the top is just 2 miles long. It begins on the bottom of the canyon.

As trail gets steeper there is less green. Only strongest trees survive harsh conditions of the rocks.

This one was not lucky enough.

Middle part of the trail is surrounded by two stone walls and there is no much sunlight here.

The most challenging and breathtaking part of the journey is the last half mile. It has steep drop-offs from both sides and sometimes the trail itself is as narrow as couple feet.

I can't recommend taking this trail if you have fear of heights. I saw two terrified tourists up there who seemed too afraid to walk even before the actually dangerous places.

Those who make it to the end will be rewarded with gorgeous view of the canyon and finally wide enough space to relax.

This and following photos were taken on the top of the Angels Landing.

Shuttles seem like toys from here.

Tourists are not the only mammals who climb here.

Trail carved in the rocks on the other side of the canyon.

This is end of the Zion Canyon. It will eventually get narrower and narrower until becoming "The Narrows".

Thank you!
